As part of the Enhance Fitness Program, the Ukrainian Community Center organized a wellness fitness program for elderly individuals. It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian Center collaborates with the Enhance Fitness Program to improve services for seniors.
Promoting and practicing physical activity allows elderly refugees and immigrants to improve their condition. For instance, weighted walking increases bone density, low-intensity exercises improve cardiovascular endurance, and balance training prevents falls - these are just some examples of exercises that elderly individuals enjoy while participating in our Senior Congregate Meals program.
