Starting from April 1, 2024, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will be increasing immigration fees for the submission of certain forms.
USCIS conducted a comprehensive biennial fee review and determined that current fees do not recover the full cost of providing adjudication and naturalization services. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is adjusting the fee schedule to fully recover costs and maintain adequate service.
The new immigration fees will take effect on April 1, 2024. Any benefit request postmarked on or after this date must be accompanied with the fees established by this final rule.
The final rule codifies that fee waiver eligibility is based on an inability to pay and that fee waivers will continue to be available for applicants who receive means-tested public benefits, have income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, or who demonstrate financial hardship.
